First Blog

Just over a year ago I visited Australia. This was my first trip out of the country. While there, my friend, the renowned Australian Socially Awkward and fellow blogger, Jade Gulliver, and I began noting each thing that we did that was a first.... first rainforest trip, first swim in a water fall, first platypus exploration walk, first time diving, etc. This idea of "firsts" has kinda stayed with me since that trip. I will occasionally text or email Jade with a "first" of mine. Little milestones in my life. At 43, you would think there aren't many Firsts left. But NO! I continue to find them in daily life. It's fun to mark them - if with nothing other than a nod of recognition or a text to an overseas pal.

My friend, Laurie, is a blogger and has encouraged me to blog about something...anything... soI am joining her in this blogging experience just to see how it suits me. My blogs will cover various Firsts as they arise. If you know me at all, you will not be surprised to find that very little is off limits to me so consider yourself forewarned. I may flash back to some past Firsts if the mood strikes me, but mostly they should be firsts that occur from here on. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and about some of your Firsts as well.
